Mexican rock outfit SERES return with “Uno”, a 12-track album that moves through alternative rock, melodic hard rock and heavier metallic shades without locking itself into a single lane. There is a restless quality to the record — atmospheric in places, riff-driven in others, with Spanish-language melodies keeping the whole thing grounded and human rather than overly polished.
The short “El Contacto de Ra” works as a doorway into the album before “Salí de Mí”, “Ángel” and “Irreal” start opening up its melodic side. “Corazón Magnético” and “Bebé” bring a warmer pull, while “Unidad”, “Tu Reflejo” and “Embrujo” lean further into the band’s broader rock vocabulary. “Renacer” gives the second half an appropriately uplifting push before “Aquí Estoy” and “Imaginarte” close things on a more reflective note.
SERES have previously described their sound as alternative rock / fusion, with elements ranging from ambient and pop to pop-punk and metal, and “Uno” seems to continue that wide-open approach rather than behaving like a straight hard rock record.
