For many years circulating among fans as a bootleg, via his own label Meanstreak Music finally Dave Meniketti is officially releasing “Live At Sherwood Hall, Salinas, California, October 1, 1983“, the fantastic show Y&T performed at their heyday.
Remastered and properly mixed, “Live At Sherwood Hall, Salinas, California, October 1, 1983” sounds great, hot n’ ready, with the musicians delivering an energetic performance.
One of America’s founding fathers of metal / hard rock, Y&T tore up the rule book with classic albums in 1981’s Earthshaker, Black Tiger from 1982, and 1983s Mean Streak. On the road to promote the latter, this recording captures Y&T at their best.
The concert, originally a broadcast by KLEL-FM, was superbly recorded in a multi-track soundboard. Tape copies circulated among fans over the years, but this “Live At Sherwood Hall, Salinas, California, October 1, 1983” is the definitive, official version. As said, the sound quality is excellent for a concert recorded in the early ’80s for broadcast.
