American heavy metal legends of the ’80s “THE RODS” will release their new album “Wild Dogs Unchained” on September 5, 2025 via Massacre Records. The album combines re-recorded classic songs from their past with brand new compositions, constituting the next chapter in the band’s journey after “Rattle The Cage” (2024).
The album was produced by Chris Collier, who handled mixing and mastering, delivering – as the label states – “a harder sound, heavier rhythms and more expressive vocals than ever before.” New tracks, such as “Eyes of a Dreamer” and “Tears for the Innocent,” coexist with renewed renditions of “Hurricane” and “Wild Dogs Unchained,” connecting the band’s past with their present.
A few days ago, THE RODS also released the lyric video for “World On Fire,” post-produced by Asif Mahmud and Lines Creative Group. The track gives a first taste of the sound of the new album, with the band’s familiar heavy metal touch.
The line-up remains stable with David “Rock” Feinstein (guitar/vocals), Freddy Villano (bass) and Carl Canedy (drums). The three musicians continue to evolve their sound, staying true to the tradition of classic heavy metal.
