I have many things to be thankful for in life, but among the luckiest of happenstances was the opportunity to be a metal loving teen growing up in the ’80s. That was truly the golden age of all things metallic, with the genre growing, evolving and mutating into multiple sub-genres at a ferocious rate, and I got to be there to experience it all first hand. I was especially fond for that early era when the only genre of metal was metal, hence my special love for the “classic style”.

Infidel sounded like a perfect fusion of Dokken, Europe, Accept, and the early Ozzy solo stuff, and that shit sells itself to geezers like me. Album high point, “Hellbiter” is one of my favorite metal tunes of the last 10 years, and I still spin it regularly.1

The announcement of a new Paradox album is always an exciting moment, as the band has released several excellent metal records. It all started in 1987 when Paradox debuted with the stunning album “Product of Imagination.” At the time, the band was sometimes considered the German equivalent of bands like Metallica, and their momentum continued with the release of their second album, “Heresy”. Unfortunately, the band disbanded in 1991, but mainman Charly Steinhauer reactivated the metal powerhouse in 1998.
