Impera – Legacy Of Life (2012)

A super group consisting a of mix of Melodic Hard Rockers, Classic Rock licks? Okay I’ll bite on this one. Impera’s debut album “Legacy of Life” is another super charged record filled with enough anthems and hooks on first listen to leave an impact. The band is the birth of a project led by J.K Impera adding special vocals by one of today’s most promising Melodic rockers around in Sweden’s Matti Alfonzetti, and bringing the multifaceted skills of Tommy Denander to the forefront. The line up is enticing and so is the music featured here as influences bring shades of Joe Lynn Turner solo records but with added punch lines and edgier guitar tones and rhythms, good stuff indeed.

In October 1967 TYA released their debut album, Ten Years After, recruited mainly from blues standards. Central track was a cover of «Help Me» Willie Dixon. The album sounded at the San Francisco radio station that played underground and caught the attention of promoter Bill Greema who invited the group to tour in the summer of 1968 a group. American audiences instantly react to unusual guitar style, which combines virtuosity and sensuality, and from then turned away from the group. TYA in total went on tour in the United States 28 times: more than any other British band. (this is my favorite album of their work)

The basis of the Blues From Hellah, the third one studio release, were the songs recorded in draft form in the 1983/84 year. From 1999 to 2002, all of the material has been overwritten with a large number of guest musicians. Heavy blues-rock and hard rock lyric with tight rhythm section, crisp guitar, flute romantic, smart and clean vocals in English on the rich symphonic arrangements. Artists did not try to recreate the atmosphere literally “golden years of rock ‘n’ roll,” but, of course, brought the spirit of the magic of a bygone musical era to the present. In fact, like many things – from the GRATEFUL DEAD to URIAH HEEP and WHATESNAKE, but has a peculiar individual charm.
