BUTTERFLY STONE – Butterfly Stone 2012
NOW!
Live Music Weekly
Butterfly Stone is a five piece band originally formed by Emmy Award winning composer and producer Mark Willott. The original idea was to create music without compromise, beyond the limitations of what a standard rock band can deliver. A unique combination of Guitars, horn sections, full orchestrations & dirty underground synths are just part of the collaboration that Butterfly Stone call upon to create their truly original sound.
StoneDaze – Stonedaze (2012)
StoneDaze was formed at 2009 by guitarist Greg madog and drummer Dias. After a difficult period with ex-members the line up was finaly filled by Alex as vocalist and Dimitris(Ozmo) on bass. With major influences Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, Down and Monster Magnet, StoneDaze come from the city of Athens, Greece. Their love for Rock n’ Roll keeps them going on creating heavy music straight from the heart. Having completed their first album and after some packed gigs in the city of Athens StoneDaze are ready to fill your rooms with smoke and rock n’ roll! So, buckle up and get ready for lift off !!!
AUDIO PORN – JEZEBEL’S KISS 2012
NOW!
Audio Porn is a project formed by vocalist and songwriter Azriel St. Michael and drummer Byron Black, both former Jezebels Kiss members (hence the name for this album), and Hydrogyn guitarist Jeff Westlake. The band name and album art reveal the sound they’re going for: traditional Eighties hard rock on the sleaze side.
Generally, Audio Porn is good at it too. St. Michael is a superb vocalist and his writing style fits the genre, he’s got a dirty mind and a potty mouth. Jeff Westlake is your basic no-frills hard rock and metal guitarist. He lets it rip and your pleased. Press materials suggest there’s a modern tone, but it’s not here. Jezebel’s Kiss fits the classic genre of melodic sleaze hard rock.
Pyramada – Now Is The Time 2012
NOW!
Hailing from West New York and New Jersey is Pyramada with their debut disc, Now Is The Time. Brothers Paul (Bass) and Pete Pollio (Vocals/Guitar) started out as a garage band doing covers and later developed into a tribute band. These experiences likely account for the depth of Pyramada’s songs.
The larger canvas is classic melodic hard rock, yet with notes of heavy metal. Madman, People Talk or Mind Abuse easily fit this category. Then there’s also some modern nuances, perhaps a taste of post-grunge rock, with Walk Away, If I Should, and Wild Child. Yet that last song easily straddles the fence between both old and new school rock. And I think that’s what Pyramada is going for throughout this album.
