The band’s third album, Alibi, was recorded in the Netherlands, produced by Jaap Eggermont, manager of the Golden Earring. The album failed to enter the charts, and not long after, the lead singer, Heerink, left the band. Demos with the new lead singer, Peter Struyk (a.k.a. Peter Stuyk, Peter Strikes, Peter Strykes and Peter William Strykes), were not well received by Atlantic.[citation needed]

Mandy Lion is the originator of the extreme power vocal which has influenced and spawned singers and acts like Rob Zombie, Korn, Type O Negative, Manson, Pantera, Static X, Metallica, 5 Finger Death Punch and so on. He has sung for numerous bands, most notably the Mandy Lion band and World War Three (WWIII) which featured Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice and Jimmy Bain of Rainbow and Dio fame.

Swedish punks rock the Backyard Babies formed in the city of Nässjö in 1987, originally comprising singer Tobbe, guitarist Dregen, bassist Johan Blomqvist and drummer Peder Carlsson. After recording a rough demo and playing a few local live dates, in 1989 the group dismissed Tobbe and replaced him with singer Nicke Borg; two more demos followed, as did a national tour, and in 1991 the Backyard Babies launched their first offical release, the EP Something to Swallow.
