It all started in the spring of 2005 when Marius came up with some plans on re-taking the third year on his upper secondary school studies. He wanted to do this just to get in the same class as Mike and Kennie so that they could start a band. After lots of conversations with headmasters and teachers and a whole lot of lies saying that Marius’s grades would be so much better he was finally approved to re-take the final year.

When Jetboy first debuted on a major scale back in 1988, with vocalist Mickey Finn‘s image making the band stand out from their hair-sprayed cohorts, my biggest complaint with them was over-production. At the time it seemed like the person twisting the knobs in the production room was sucking the life right out of the music. Now that Jetboy is now longer being controlled by a major label they can do things their own way, and give their songs the punch they always deserved.

Salem Hill should be well known to visitors of this site. We’ve reviewed a great many of their albums and all but one have received a DPRP recommendation. This is an intriguing release from the highly-talented Geoffrey Downes, or Geoff Downes as you know him, erstwhile keyboard tinkler from Asia and Yes. New Dance Orchestra is an ongoing project but to my knowledge this is the first time Geoff has employed a vocalist extensively.
