Lance Powers – Destination Unknown (1997), MP3+FLAC

front
A couple weeks ago we featured, as requested, the first album by American singer / songwriter LANCE POWERS, titled ‘Straight From The Heart’, a collection of recordings / demos taped in the early ’90s.

Now we have here “Destination Unknown“, LANCE POWERS’ second album released by himself too, but this time production is much better, and packaging too, a silver pressed CD professionally manufactured. A private release now very hard to find.
The songs on “Destination Unknown” were recorded during the first half of the Nineties, some in the USA, some in Australia, where Lance worked as session musician, touring musician, and songwriter for others. Production is more homogeneous than on the debut, everything sounds like a real band musically focused, this time Melodic Hard Rock oriented.
And what great songs we find here! ‘Headed for a Fall’, ‘Do You Still Love Me’, ‘Strange Kind of Love’, ‘Open Your Heart’, etc, all are pure ’80s-style catchy tunes with the right dose of keyboards, driving by melodic guitars and Lance’s voice that somehow bring to mind early SHY records.
You can’t go wrong regarding this genre: 11 songs of golden, classy Melodic Hard Rock / AOR.
