We are featuring in exclusive at fake the Pride & Joy Music remastered reissue of wonderful Swedish AOR band JAR only album 1993’s “In Truth We Trust“. For the first time on CD, it’s limited to 500 copies exclusively available at Pride & Joy Music webshop.

JAR formed in 1990, and featured the impressive voice of Ray Alex, who was the first singer in Swedish AOR institution GLORY. “In Truth We Trust” was a private release in limited quantities, and over the years became a rare pearl for all Scandi AOR lovers. Musically JAR was compared to Strangeways, Talk Of The Town, Magnum, Prism, etc.
All members have a very long musical background having worked with many ’80s bands. With JAR they wanted to create sophisticated melodies. And indeed “In Truth We Trust” is a luxury collection of AOR songs, perfectly recorded and produced.

Sometime back in the beginning of the 90s, three guys had an idea of a music project. Two of the members, Anders Olsson (guitars, keyboards) & Jan Andersson (drums, bass, keyboards) had at that time an own recording studio. They started to record material, and as soon was Ray entered in the project, JAR was born.
But since the writing and recording of “In Truth We Trust” progressed over three years it was sometime painful because of the lack of time. One of the reasons that it took so long time was that they only could use the studio when it not was occupied (late evenings and nights).
At the end of the recording a fourth member, Lars Ericsson joined the band as lead guitarist, providing the melodic solos.

 

With the global expansion of the internet, the songs in “In Truth We Trust” enjoyed a resurgence with some videos on Youtube and fans asking for a proper album reissue on CD.
There where some plans to re-record the whole album. Unfortunately, Ray Alex passed away in 2019 before seeing the project’s full realization. His remarkable voice continues to resonate through the album’s expressive notes and soulful vibrato.
