Some concept albums are more fun to listen to if you just tune out the concept. That’s the case with Spiritual Revolution, a 69-minute mish-mash of neo-progressive rock, dark metal, Celtic influences, brief spoken-word narration and sounds effects, and even Duran Duran references. The fact this Italian band can hold all of that together musically is impressive enough; I’m not even going to try to comment on how faithful it is to J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion, which inspired Spiritual Revolution (and which I’ve never read).
