Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.

cover hidden landsFrom the ashes of Swedish Proggers Violent Silence (four out of five members are joining in), comes this fine album with Hannes Ljunghall (composer/lyricist, keyboards & guitars) as main figure… It is a very interesting album that music wise is mainly keyboard orientated, you actually don’t hear much guitar even though stated in the booklet. But you get loads of keyboard washes, soli & melody lines, underlined by fine bass and solid drums.

Is anyone reading this old enough to remember Commodore computers, particularly the C64 line? No? How about the original Nintendo consoles? Maybe?
