Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.

Conundrum In Deed’s debut album draws on diverse influences including 70’s progressive rock, jazz, folk, and psychedelia. Piano-driven melodies and epic guitar lines accompany lyrics rich in mystery and metaphor, creating a journey through a surreal musical universe. There are hints of Bowie, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, and Nick Drake, appealing to a wide range of audiences. The production style is at once organic and vintage, retaining a live dynamic despite high production values.
