Progressive rock, also known as prog rock or prog, is a rock music subgenre that originated in the United Kingdom, with further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and 1970s. It developed from psychedelic rock and originated, similarly to art rock, as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music.

With members of Flamborough Head, Nice Beaver and Trion they started out as The King Eider Live band in 2007 together with Waalkens/Gerritse. After a very succesfull gig at the ProgFarm festival in 2007 Gerritse left the band and Eddie Mulder took his place. On the 29th of February 2008 they baptised themselves Leap Day and in the same year a record deal with OSKAR Records Poland was signed.They’ve released two albums: Awaking The Muse (2009) and Skylge’s Lair (2011) In October 2013 their 3rd studio album will be released: From The Days Of Deucalion (chapter1), again through OSKAR Records.
