Pop rock is a music genre which mixes a catchy pop style and light lyrics in its (typically) guitar-based rock songs. There are varying definitions of the term, ranging from a slower and mellower form of rock music to a subgenre of pop music. The detractors of pop rock often deride it as a slick, commercial product, less authentic than rock music.[1]

Dave Stewart – The Ringmaster General (2012)
A moment’s distraction, a car door slams – happens to us all. And Stewart would be the first to admit to a certain degree of preoccupation. In the last year, he’s released his own album, The Blackbird Diaries; overseen projects for Stevie Nicks, Orianthi and Joss Stone; launched a signature guitar with Duesenberg, the Dave Stewart Blackbird; taken part in the all-star band Super Heavy; co-wrote the score for Ghost The Musical; and during a spare moment, he sold a TV pilot to ABC (Malibu Country, currently filming with Reba McEntire and Lily Tomlin).
Tanita Tikaram – Can’t Go Back (2012) 2CD
multi-million selling British singer songwriter, who shot to fame with her award winning album ‘Ancient Heart’ in 1988, featuring hit songs ‘Twist In My Sobriety’ and ‘Good Tradition’, returns with her seventh studio album ‘Can’t Go Back‘, to be released worldwide in July via earMUSIC (Edel).
The album features some of America’s most exciting modern soul musicians, and was lovingly crafted by producer Paul Bryan (Aimee Mann, Grant Lee Phillips, Nina Nastasia) at Sound Factory in Los Angeles.
The musicians included Bryan himself as well as keyboardist Keefus Ciancia (B.B. King, T.Bone Burnett, Elton John, Everlast), Ray LaMontagne’s drummer Jay Bellerose and long term friend and guitarist Mark Creswell. Guest vocals come from American folk singer songwriter Grant Lee Phillips.
