“Meridian II” feels like a significant leap over its predecessor. The Progressive Metal experimentation is retained from “Meridian I,” but gone are that album’s pacing problems and lack of variety in the longer tracks. “Meridian II” feels tighter, less sprawling, more focused, and more thematically cohesive.
