Storm The Sun – Return From Dust 2015

In October of 2012, Storm the Sun began their career in Strongsville, Ohio recording their first EP, So Long, The Deep End Awaits. Tony Gammalo (of Chimaira, Straight Line Stitch, Misery Signals, and Walls of Jericho fame) engineered the album which blends the melody of modern hard rock with the intensity and drive of heavy metal favorites.

Acute Mind – Acute Mind (2010)

digi_cover_and_back1I stumbled upon this band while hearing the band ‘Quidam’. I saw a link and heard one of the songs “The Prophecy” and I was amazed. The comparisons to Dream Theater are far fetched as they do not sound like Dream Theater, however, they do possess in my opinion some sort of resemblance to Pink Floyd. Very moving, moody, slow tempo, rhythmic songs on the album.

CIVIL WAR — the new Swedish metal band featuring former SABATON members Rikard Sundén (guitar), Daniel Mullback (drums), Daniel Mÿhr (keyboards) and Oskar Montelius (guitar) alongside singer Patrik Johansson (ASTRAL DOORS, LION’S SHARE) and bassist Stefan “Pizza” Eriksson (VOLTURYON) — will release its full-length debut, “The Killer Angels”, on June 11 via Despotz Records. The group states: “The album deals with a lot of stuff: heroes, traitors, battles and heavy metal….and yes: we have a song called ‘Gettysburg’.”
