Album-oriented rock (abbreviated AOR) is an American FM radio format focusing on album tracks by rock artists. AOR evolved from progressive rock radio in the mid-1970s, using research and formal programming to create an album rock format with greater commercial appeal.

Previously known for his immediate, radio-ready melodic rock tunes, RICK SPRINGFIELD changed the general approach of his music delivery with the mid-Eighties record “TAO“. With a production design, arrangements and studio tricks technically far beyond its year, the album was unleashed to the world at the end of 1985.

BERNIE CHIARAVALLE – Long Before I Knew You (2022)


BERNIE CHIARAVALLE’s lengthy association with Michael McDonald goes back to the late Eighties – Bernie is the guitarist since 1988 – but he’s also fashioned an intriguing solo career away from the Doobie Brothers legend. They initially met through Chiaravalle’s work with Ambrosia’s David Pack, and Chiaravalle then contributed extensively on McDonald’s Blue Obsession and subsequent albums.

In April of 2021, 13 months into quarantine, RICK SPRINGFIELD and his band performed his most iconic album, “Working Class Dog,” from start to finish live at Rick’s home in Malibu in celebration of its 40th Anniversary.
The resulting work is a renewed interpretation of this classic album, the kind of ‘live into the studio’ record with a pristine sound and how Springfield ‘feels’ these songs 2022.

Live in Berlin – concert by Sting with the Royal Symphony Concert Orchestra conducted by Stephen Mercurio on September 21, 2010 at the O2 World Arena, Berlin. The November 26 release via Deutsche Grammophon on CD+DVD and Blu-ray includes many of Sting and the Police’s famous songs such as “Roxanne”, “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, “King Of Pain”, “Fields Of Gold” and others – in a symphonic arrangement.

Journey’s ninth new studio album “Raised On Radio” found the group reduced to a trio of guitarist Neal Schon, singer Steve Perry, and keyboard player Jonathan Cain. They lost their regular rhythm section, but to be honest, Journey only needed these 3 members who always provided the songwriting, arrangements, and in short, the band’s appeal.
