In 1987 Patty Smyth released her first solo album. The album was never supposed to be a solo record; it was meant to be a record by Scandal Featuring Patty Smyth. but the band had dissolved after the tour of the Warrior album. Though she would later have success as a songwriter, Smyth cowrote only the album’s first and last tracks. The first, the title track, a slightly rewrite of the song with the same title from The Hooters self-titled debut, and the closing track of the album.
