Hard rock (or heavy rock) is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music which has its earliest roots in mid-1960s garage rock, blues rock and psychedelic rock. It is typified by a heavy use of aggressive vocals, distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and often accompanied with pianos and keyboards.

NEW YORK – Carry the Torch​/​Electric Thunder 2025


NEW YORK was formed in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 1977 by guitarist/vocalist Jimmy Ennis. The band would begin gigging in 1979. Several line-up changes would follow, eventually leading to the line-up of Ennis, guitarist Johnny Glover, bassist Freddy Foster and drummer Ric Hanz.
