Glam rock (also known as glitter rock) is a style of rock and pop music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, which was performed by singers and musicians who wore outrageous clothes, makeup and hairstyles, particularly platform-soled boots and glitter. The flamboyant costumes and visual styles of glam performers were often camp or androgynous, and have been connected with new views of gender roles.

Jungle Blue – Call Of The Wild (2008)


Call Of The Wild is the debut studio album by American Sleaze band Jungle Blue, released in 2008 by Suncity Records. Jungle Blue’s sound is best described as Melodic Hard Rock with a tinge of pop for good measure with killer song writing and musicianship.

Really now, if you ask me the glam metal scene as a whole has never really been a breeding pool for exorbitantly brilliant music. Ok, I suppose there were a couple bands that are still pleasant to listen to, but they were definitely a minority. I can also understand people listening to those bands for nostalgia’s sake.

Hollywood Dirtbags – Sinners Take All (2012)

The Hollywood Dirtbags have ripped a page out of Nashville Pussy‘s playbook (likely using it to roll a joint), and have picked up right where the Crank County Daredevils left off. With a nasty attitude and lyrical content that consists of sex, sex, sex and sex (I’m sensing a trend here), Illinois’ newest sleaze merchants have served up a debut that will appeal to rock fans who like ample amounts of piss with their vinegar.
