This rocks pretty good in straightforward, garage rock fashion. “Ignite the Tide’ is a powerful debut by Kid Ego, coming from York,England and these guys could hold their own with the sunset strip dude’s of the 80’s. Songs like ‘Magic Candy’, ‘Till I Die’ and ‘Death Row’ are anthemic and full of hooks. If you enjoyed the hedonistic sounds of 80’s rock this is an album you should buy!

Glam rock (also known as glitter rock) is a style of rock and pop music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, which was performed by singers and musicians who wore outrageous clothes, makeup and hairstyles, particularly platform-soled boots and glitter. The flamboyant costumes and visual styles of glam performers were often camp or androgynous, and have been connected with new views of gender roles.
Fifi La Rou – Lick And A Promise (1990)
Hard to find album from this Long Island based outfit released in 1990 via Wet Cheri Records and produced by Shawn Martin. Headed by Vocalist Fifi and guitarist Shawn Martin, they deal out light-weight fare, with a heavy dose of lip gloss and the time honored rock ‘n’ roll cliches.
Toxic Rose – Toxic Rose (2012) EP
The new supergroup from Sweden’s capital is consisting of (ex) members of other well-known bands such as Gemini Five (Tom Wouda, guitar), SexyDeath (Goran Imperator, bass) and Lipstixx’n’Bulletz (Michael Sweet, drums, and Andy, vocals).
Just recently, Toxic Rose have released their first music video “A Song For The Weak” which was shot in Gothenburg / Sweden in October
Sgt. Roxx – Push And Squeeze (1990)
Sgt. Roxx released their debut album, “Push and Squeeze” in 1990. The band consisted of Jack Adams on vocals and rhythm guitar, Darrin Laszlo on bass guitar, Rob Briles on rhythm guitar, Bob O’ Connor on lead guitar, and Gabrial Anthony on drums. The boys from the Chicago music scene kicked out some great tracks that to this day can be jammed out to, partied to, or even just chilled to.
Hostage – Poor And Famous (1995)
Hostage was the best Glam Rock band in Perth for many years , they never tried to be musically the best, but always tried to go out and rock me harder (pun) . The band was founded in High School by Russell Smith, and after a few line up changes the current line up was the one that played many shows around the Perth scene. Pressed on the Embryo records label in very small quantities.
Bittersweet – Loaded Up (2004)
In the late 1980s there were a lot of new bands from the East Coast of the US playing a sort of typical Mainstream melodic hardrock/partyrocksound. Some of them enjoyed a lot of success (SKID ROW, WARRANT, WINGER, TESLA, DAMN YANKEES, FIREHOUSE, WHITE LION, SLAUGHTER etc.),
Sick Six Crush – Sick Six Crush (2000)
I love this CD, they’re a new Motley Crue for me, very glam, pretty heavy. Kinda too bad that the band does not seem the top priority for Macy and Kari at the moment since they’re pursuing the career of Peppermint Creeps which is an awesome band too.
Roulette – Pull The Trigger – Reloaded (2007)
This is late 80s Melodic Hardrock/ Hair Metal. The band released an album in 1990 titled ‘Pull The Trigger’ that was released on cassette. Now, they have released that album on CD along with some demo tracks making a true full length CD. As far as I know, the CD was only made available through their web site. Musically their sound is in the style of a cross between XYZ, DOKKEN, HEAVEN’S EDGE, LILLIAN AXE, FIREHOUSE, STEELHEART and TRIXTER.
Santa Cruz – Screaming For Adrenaline (2013)
I love 80’s metal and it seems it is coming around again in Finland. I really love Santa Cruz and Reckless Love and think it’s awesome that they are bringing it back! I went to see both bands play and I felt 16 again.
