Glam rock (also known as glitter rock) is a style of rock and pop music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, which was performed by singers and musicians who wore outrageous clothes, makeup and hairstyles, particularly platform-soled boots and glitter. The flamboyant costumes and visual styles of glam performers were often camp or androgynous, and have been connected with new views of gender roles.

Pretty Wild – Pretty Wild (2014)

London – Playa Del Rock 1990

Playa Del Rock

Very good Hard Rock/Glam. Excellent cover of Nick Gilder’s Hot Child in the City. This band reminds me of Motley Crue, Ratt, Castle Blak. This is a real must CD to your collection.

Lip Service – Come An’ Get It 2007

2007 Come An' Get ItEarlier this year an unknown Southampton, U.K. band sent me a CD single that proceeded to knock me on my ass. That band was Lip Service and now they have returned with their debut full-length entitled Come An’ Get It. The two Cinderella influenced tunes on their Late Night Love Affair single are both included here and sound as good now as the day I first heard them. Do the rest of the songs on Come An’ Get It reach the same pinnacle as Lip Service‘s first single? That is the question I am about to answer.

Pretty Wild – All The Way 2009

1416756261____0_d98f7_5a726aa2_lAll The Way is an eight song e.p. from Swedish glam band Pretty Wild made up of Ivan Höglund (Vocals), Krizzy Field (Guitar), Kim Chevelle (Bass), and Johnny Benson (Drums). The bad news about “All The Way” is there are only six original songs on the album with the other two songs being an alternate version of “Let The Good Times Roll” and a live version of “Dangerous”. The good news is if you are a fan of the Sunset Strip’s 80’s heyday then Pretty Wild is the band for you, with a sound that reminds me of early Motley Crue mixed with Pretty Boy Floyd…

Big, ripping guitars, pounding drums, soaring vocals, lot’s of hooks and harmonies. Up tempo, melodic hard rock the way they used to make it. If you like Motley Crue, Poison, Slaughter, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Dokken, you’ll love D.T. Boyz.
