Glam rock (also known as glitter rock) is a style of rock and pop music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, which was performed by singers and musicians who wore outrageous clothes, makeup and hairstyles, particularly platform-soled boots and glitter. The flamboyant costumes and visual styles of glam performers were often camp or androgynous, and have been connected with new views of gender roles.

Crank County Daredevils – Livin’ In The Red 2007

Another sleaze band worth keeping an eye on is North Carolina’s Crank County Daredevils. Lead Singer Scotty P. may not have the voice for everyone. His voice is so cigarette and alcohol stained that he could nearly be a Death Metal growler, yet somehow his voice works here. The Music on Livin’ In the Red is loud and furious. Don’t look for any power ballads by these guys. This is hard as nails, in your face rock and roll.
