Glam rock (also known as glitter rock) is a style of rock and pop music that developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s, which was performed by singers and musicians who wore outrageous clothes, makeup and hairstyles, particularly platform-soled boots and glitter. The flamboyant costumes and visual styles of glam performers were often camp or androgynous, and have been connected with new views of gender roles.

Alvin Stardust – primarily known as a glam rock star with his hits “My Coo-Coo-Choo” and “Jealous Mind” for the first time after 30 years, entered the studio to record new material. Album under the unpretentious title “Alvin” was released on the 27th October 2014. Recorded Alvin helped Scott Ralph and Richard Scott, who took care of all the instrumental part of the album.

The internet is a wonderful thing and not just because of all the free porn. The internet also breaths life into many lost and forgotten recordings. I remember Sweet Teaze and their sought after independent release Do It Till It Hurtz (good luck finding that one), but I never realized that they recorded demos for a major label after winning a ‘battle of the bands’ contest. Of course an evil entity named grunge came along and buried those recordings until now.
