Cruachan was the capital of the Middle Ages Irish kingdom of Connacht. It is also an important site in Irish mythology.Cruachan formed as a result of the disbandment of a previous band called Minas Tirith. They disbanded in mid-1997 but reformed in January 1999.

Blodsmak is a band that plays heavy rock on Norwegian. We are the sound of the hammer against the anvil, the smell of diesel and grease. We are skeletons in the closet. Lepoka started life in early 2010, in what began as a hobby for five good friends. At first they preferred practice a near folk rock groups like Wizard of Oz and Saurom. They perform their first concerts, recruit two new components to the group, and this first training lepoka which is recorded in 2011 the first demo of the band.

There’s something quite special about new folk metal albums, especially those coming from new folk metal bands. Perhaps it’s just me but I’ve often felt that there was something melancholic about the state of folk metal itself. As a genre, it’s always been one for unashamedly celebrating the past, but it seems often like a genre in danger of slipping into it.
