Vitne – Not Far from Shallow Water (2013) EP

FrontThe first solo release by VITNE, Not Far From Shallow Water is an energetic yet heartfelt combination of songs, primarily drawing from the 1980s glam metal era. This is VITNE’s earliest solo work and features the dark piano-driven ballad of the same name, Not Far From Shallow Water. Winner: “Best Music Video” (Not Far From Shallow Water) by The Akademia Awards.

Montage – Montage (2014)

FrontA base of hard rock, infused with a mix of folk, early prog and psychadelia significantly marks the album. These influences are very clear in the songs. Titles like Misty High, Strawberry Skies and Reborn Identity really show these influences and also the lyrics are Hippie-like themes with a hint of dark humor.

JAID – II 2014

ply_48-3_53060The singer Janina Dietz and her band released the 23rd of May the new album “II” via the company Comand Records. The plate which is the sequel to the 2010 debut “Last Girl Standing” will contain the following songs:

Maggy Simpson – Lab Rat and Lobster (2013)

FrontMaggy Simpson consists of Shane Counter and Bat Kinane (of Glyder fame), who have previously worked together on Bat Kinane’s solo album. That album was a singer/songwriter one with a folk feel, whereas Maggy Simpson is more of a metal beast. In fact the music on here is possibly the heaviest Bat Kinane has recorded, most notably the opener ‘High Time To Die’ a real monster of a tune driven along nicely by the drums of Davy Ryan (ex-Glyder).

Dio – Live In London Hammersmith Apollo 1993 (2014)

FrontFilmed at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 12th December 1993 this previously unreleased concert film captures the then newly reformed Dio on the last night of their European tour in support of the STRANGE HIGHWAYS album. With a line-up of Ronnie James Dio (vocals), Vinny Appice (drums), Jeff Pilson (bass) and Tracy G (guitar) the band delivered a blistering performance on tracks from their new album,

Motherload – Black And Blue (2013)

Motherload - Black And BlueBritish band Motherload’s first full-length release “Black And Blue” is a fully loaded freight-train of hard-rocking, metal-plated rock’n’roll that just about flattened me as I listened to it, and I mean that as a sincere compliment.
