REIGN OF THOUGHT – Beginning of the End 2012

NOW!

REIGN OF THOUGHT was originally conceived early in 2006 by founding members Matt Becker (guitar), Aaron Yerdon (guitar), and Shanna Becker (vocalist/violin/keyboard).

Like a visceral response to the mainstream, Reign of Thought fights back against the hum of the mediocre with their very own pandemonium of soaring melodies, powerful rhythms, complex composition, and dramatic storytelling. With the recent addition of members, Justin Merolla (drums), and Shawn Dandrew (bass), it is without a doubt that this is the beginning of an incredible adventure.

Hailing from New York’s Capital District, this five-piece groundbreaking progressive metal project has a variety of experiences and musical influences which culminate in an innovative sound and texture. Every NWS live show is a breathtaking experience for the senses. Their presence is dynamic; each member of the crowd taken on a journey in which they are part of the experience, and not just a member of the audience.

RHEIA – FORGOTTEN GODS 2011

NOW!

Rheia does also orchestral compositions and programming in a professional way. If you’re interested in these services please use the contact form.

Rheia is the creation of Swiss song-writing sound engineer and keyboardist Pascale Peng. Over the course of a couple of years she gradually recorded these songs with a cast of carefully chosen musicians. The band name she has chosen is taken from the Greek goddess Rheia (or Rhea), the daughter of the Earth, who gave birth to the Greek Pantheon of gods, including the rulers of Heaven and Hell, Zeus and Hades. However, this is not an concept album, and the lyrics are about a wide variety of topics. The closest I can get to describing her totally unique but hugely appealing music is try imagining a touch of Within Temptation symphonic metal being propelled along by The Cars’ driving rhythms, then add OMD’s synths and pop sensibilities, and finally top with Nena on vocals to

Mythic Force – Twilight Prelude 2012

NOW!RRRR….

Twilight Prelude songs Broderick Gray and Karl Helmar are not exactly novices in the U.S. . Twilight Prelude album Underground scene. Twilight Prelude CD music While they both picked up the guitar at an early age, they studied hard to develop advanced guitar techniques and are now considered virtuosos of the Neo-Classical genre in the U.S. . Twilight Prelude music CDs scene. Twilight Prelude songs While co-operating with many bands including Mass of Virtue, Allegiance, Nyxx, Metal in Action and Candy Striper Death Orgy, Broderick and Karl were also constantly working on musical ideas for their project entitled “Mythic Force”, a high energy Heavy Metal

M.I.C. – On all 4’s 2012

NOW!

Guitarist/Singer Yvon Serre returns with arguably his strongest offering yet: the suggestively titled “On All 4’s”. Taking his trademark classic rock overtones, zingy pop melodies and bar room grit, and adding a big nod to his early days with bands like “Yvon Serre Groupe” and “The Harry Straight Band”, On All 4’s should sonically appease existing fans and newcomers alike.Mixing achingly catchy commercialism ‘Can’t Take Anymore’, nigh-on Brit pop ‘Chemicals’, gnarly pop ‘ Cookin`’, and chilled rock ‘You Tonight’ (co-written with Jon Wilde who runs this very website) with more besides, On All 4’s puts the work of many bigger bands to shame with it’s adrenaline, fun-factor and variety.

Drug Under – Forgive and Forget 2012

2NOW!

Never judge a book (or album) by its cover! When this Denver, CO.-based band was first brought to my attention, going by the cover art and knowing that the label is owned and operated by Warrant’s Jerry Dixon & Erik Turner, I assumed Drug Under was going to be the type of hard rock act that drew heavily on ’80s influences. Not so. They are a modern hard rock/metal act that fits right in with the rest of the bands on active rock radio these days.

Mongrel – Reclamation 2012

NOW!NOT REAL WAR…

On the album the band went through “a living hell” – said the leader of the team, Adam Savage. “It took four years, five line-up changes, two studios, two labels, and countless hours of work and here it finally comes out!”

During recording, the tension between the parties came to a head, and in the end it was decided to leave the vocalist and drummer. In place of the latter was quickly found Dave Kazukiewicz, but with a singer … “We have found the singer, but quickly stepped life circumstances and everything will have changed” – says Savage. “Then I asked my friend, Jessica’y Sierra come with us on a few shows.”

Following the presentations, Jessica became a regular participant Mongrel, and the group returned to the studio to re-record all of the material from scratch.

Evershine – Renewal 2012

dc539f2c4ce9e8c956407208796e100dNOW!

Their history dates back to 2001, but now Evershine has put together their full-length debut, Renewal, a platter of melodic power metal. Power metal? Italy? Could it be? Hold back your incredulity for just a moment. Evershine is pretty darn good.

Renewal is definitely epic, lively, and bombastic, like any Italian power metal band should be. Early in their career the band took cues from fellow Italian metallers Rhapsody of Fire, but also Stratovarius. How epic and over the top is that?

While somewhat typical of European power metal, Evershine works from three strengths. The first is the strong and versatile lead vocals from Marco Coppotelli and vocal arrangements. The second is the balance of guitar and synth solos. There’s definitely some thrilling fret pyrotechnics, but the keyboards also do well. Third, Evershine concentrates on melody, and melody often with a rock groove. Yet, they can still be heavy and fast, as power metal should be.
