A Perfect Day, also APD, side project of the Italian power metal institution Laybrinth, singer Roberto Titranti and guitarist Andrea Cantarelli plus drummer Alessandro Bissa, with their third album ‘With Wide Eyes Open’. Ten intense songs that cross metal influences with strong hard blues from bands like Black Stone Cherry or Blackberry Smoke and post-grunge elements. The lyrics are about small everyday frescos that ask the existential questions of man. Musically very playful, A Perfect Day manages to take a big step forward.

Guitar riffs, sharply cutting like a scalpel, vocally powerful, ominously pregnant growls and the songs played almost continuously at a high tempo, only briefly interrupted by a few slow passages, create a finite, brute sound, which despite all the harshness grows together perfectly with melody and melancholy.

The 43-year-old New York state guitarist was influenced early on by his father’s vinyl collection, which included albums by Eric Clapton, Cream, the Jeff Beck Group and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. These British blues influences have shaped him and made him the musician he is today. “I must have been about 12 years old when I first heard this sound and was immediately captivated by it. I knew right away that I wanted to be like that,” Joe recalls. “This whole London adventure,” admits Bonamassa, “was the fulfillment of a great wish.
