Blues is the name given to both a musical form and a music genre that originated in African-American communities of primarily the “Deep South” of the United States around the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads.

The Continentals – My Rose Tattoo 2012
now
The tenth album of the Continentals offers again a hot crossover brew of rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly, blues, surf and country rock. In the style of American road movies and trash films. Besides the title song My Rose Tattoo can be found on this CD with Hot Wheels, Cathouse Blues, Wild At Heart (Down In Mexico), Hurt By You and The Lions five more brand new compositions by the Continentals.

This is a superb cd of original well-crafted blues-rock songs (plus one instrumental), played by an excellent band who have never been content just to re-cycle the same old hackneyed blues standards like so many of their contemporaries seem to do.
