LizZard – Out Of Reach (2012)

So here I am sitting in traffic. It’s at a complete standstill, and it looks like I’m going to be here for awhile. The radio station is on a commercial break, and the droning promises of easy loans, easy weight loss and easy money from ambulance-chasing lawyers permeate the air like a floating plague ready to devour anyone who simply takes the bait. Man, I need something to listen to. I frantically begin flipping through what seems like countless waves of little plastic discs. Page after page, it’s No. No. Been there, done that. No. Hell no! That is, until I come across one that catches my eye: Lizzard’s Out Of Reach. Okay, mes amis français, let’s see what you have for me this time around.

3. The Machine
4. Prey
5. Invisible Man
6. These Days
7. Shameless

DECEIT – NINE (2012)

NOW!

After their debut EP in 2010 which received great feedback and a strong reputation that the band has build around its name from their live performances Deceit is ready to release their first full length album with the title “Nine“.
Their sound is a mix of catchy melodies, cool riffs with an early 90’s alternative rock sound. I think that this band have must grown up with bands such as Foo Fighters and Alice In Chains to name a few. Most of the songs here are solid with strong arrangements and very good performances. This band has plenty of talent and that’s a thing reflects to their music. “First Father” is Deceit’s first video-clip and it’s about a very good modern rock song with powerfull performances and attitude. A good sample of what this band is capable to offer! Other highlights here are the ‘darker’ tune of “Around The World“, the aggressive “The Fall” and “Last Song”.

Aoria – The Constant (2012)

Imagine Thom Yorke hanging out with Cult of Luna, you wouldn’t be a million miles from how Aoria sound.  The fact that this record is mixed by Magnus Lindberg (Khome and COL) further emphasises comparability.  This Stockholm trio are due to unleash this spellbindingly beautiful debut record on Swedish label Version Studio Records. Originally formed back in 2002, under the name Drive, the group reformed in 2011 with a new name and set about recording ‘The Constant’.  Majestically beautiful in their slow building
