Ex Wife’s Skull – The Ultimate Frightmare (2013)

Ex Wife's Skull - The Ultimate FrightmareEX WIFE’S SCULL one succeeds in connecting the Sleaze rock of N GUNS ROSES with the vigorous hard rock of ZEPPELIN LED on her album “The Ultimate Frightmare”. And also if they are resident at last already more in the Sleaze rock, she removes the line particularly appearing with the reef to the 70th thus a little bit of other tape of the genre.

The pieces on “The Ultimate Frightmare” are mostly dynamic and straight. With the emotional moments of the models GNR stay EX WIFE’S DO NOT SCULL, fortunately, so much, and no complicated structures also expect the listener it. The songs should be summed up even more purposefully. Thus the Hooks are held partially rather simple, thereby stamp themselves, however, also well. The pieces are led by strong rhythm and vigorous reef, and the climaxes are compiled capably. EX WIFE’S SCULL, besides, prove a fine little hand for the Songswriting of the section, because most tracks go really quickly to the ear and make mood. My favorites are “Ride On”, “Ultimate Frightmare”, “(What You Seed Is) What You Get)” and “Never Drumming Alone”. But at last the Germans hold a consistently good composition level about the whole work. And here we have the only crack point: Since this has been short with just 31 minutes, nevertheless, badly.

In spite of this point, we deal here, however, with quick, fresh and Sleaze rock album good all together. EX WIFE’S SCULL give with “The Ultimate Frightmare” a skilful deuce in this rock section, and I hope only that the next album precipitates a little more extensively.
