VAN HALEN – The Definitive Demos 1976-1977 [Zodiac Japan 3-CD], MP3+FLAC

As requested, here’s VAN HALEN early recordings before the release of their groundbreaking debut LP ‘Van Halen’.
”The Definitive Demos 1976-1977” is a really well done 3-disc release by Japanese bootleg label Zodiac, housed in a clear ‘fatbox’ jewel case, with front and back tray cards, silver pressed CD’s, and very good sound quality.

This is a limited edition pressing with a red (with subtle stripes) sticker containing a three-digit number indicating what copy you have.
Disc 1 features the complete Gene Simmons produced demos from 1976, while on Disc 2 & 3 we find The Warner Brothers pre-production demos made for the label from 1977. This material has been bootlegged to death, however it’s really nice to have them together, and with this really good audio quality.
Both the 10 track demo that Simmons helped produce in 1976, and the 25 track demo that was produced for Warner Bros in late 1977 have a very good sound, in fact, some basic tracks were used for the mix of the first album. The song “Gonna Take A Lot Of Drugs” was never part of the WB demos, and is included for fun at the end of Disc 2.
This is VAN HALEN at is very primal, unpolluted, rockin’ hot.
