Its FAKE! Here’s in exclusive at herethe just released in Japan THE MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP album “Live at The Manchester Apollo 1980“, pressed on high quality SHM-CD, in a Cardboard Sleeve/ Mini-LP replica style.
Originally only available on physical format as RSD Exclusive Limited Double Red Vinyl back in 2021, this is the first time the album is being released on CD, only in Japan and using SHM discs.
This is an example of an album being toured by the line-up that would record the next studio album. In 1980 former UFO / Scorpions guitarist Michael Schenker recorded the first MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP album with vocalist Gary Barden (and Simon Philips, Don Airey, Mo Foster as session players), and soon after the MSG line-up would settle as a band with extraordinaire Cozy Powell (after left Rainbow), bassist Chris Glen, and keyboardist / guitarist Paul Raymond.
This 1980 live set is terrific, recorded direct to tape with no overdubs at the Manchester Apollo 30th September 1980, is a rough ‘n’ ready, hot piece of classic hard rock . It’s what a live album should be.
