BOSS – Step On It ’84 [20th Century Music remastered reissue] (2020), MP3+FLAC

As requested, here’s the 20th Century Music remastered reissue of 1984’s “Step On It“, the sole album from Sydney, Australia’s finest melodic metal / hard rock outfit BOSS, featuring Craig Csongrady and Kevin Pratt, later to form great melodic hard rock outfit BB Steal.

“Step On It” is straight riff-driven hard rockin’ stuff, catchy, including some typical 80s shredding solos, a lot of crunchy riffs, and fun choruses.
Most of the songs musically makes justice to the album’s opening title track – ‘Kick Ass (Rock n’ Roll)’ – such as ‘That Woman’, ‘Hard n’ Fast’, ‘Take It Or Leave It’ and ‘Free Wheelin”. Hard n’ heavy ’80s style.

As import the “Step On It” LP sold really well – 80,000+ copies in Japan and a similar amount in Germany – but the record company killed them. BOSS asked RCA Victor to arrange tours on both Europe & Japan with no luck… so they were effectively dead in the water.
A shame, as this baby rocks!
