Many of you asked for JOHN SYKES last album “Sy-Ops” still unreleased. The album was completed some years ago with the likes of Tony Franklin (The Firm), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Guns N’ Roses) in the recording line up – there were various announcements of release since 2015 but never materialized.
None of the songs were officially released or available at streaming platforms – Sykes himself only shared 3 songs on YouTube: ‘Out Alive’, ‘Drawning For A Brand New Day’, and ‘Gates Of Hell’. In 2020, Sykes parted ways with Golden Robot Records without releasing a single record through the label.
There was a low-res digital music press promo – the one feature here in exclusive – with the aforementioned complete songs, samples, plus an audio message from Sykes saluting the fans and promising “Sy-Ops” out soon.
As extra, and exclusive too, we have a different mix / early version of ‘Out Alive’, sent to keyboardist Derek Sherinian for a possible guest appearance in the final recording.
