The Blue Scream- All Night Burning 2018 EP


The Blue Scream formed by guitarist Yohsuke Oikawa, a Tokyo based hard rock band that revive the 80s US scene of the period with songs that definitely will hook you. First off, this album sounds incredible.

Lost in Grey – The Waste Land (2019)


Though hampered by some of the Nightwishcore trappings, dense production chief among them, the sheer scope of the music on display ensures the entertainment value survives unscathed. Lost in Grey shot for the moon and left a neat crater, and for the first time in the genre, I’m excited to find out just how much further they can go.

Bloody Times – On a Mission (2019)


Germany Pfundstein, and their legion of guitarists give incredible individual performances, they are limited by a set of songs that could never be more than standard heavy metal fare. I’m glad to find that Greely’s voice has aged well, and I hope to hear it again soon on an album worthy of its power.

Brod and Cirkus – Brod and Cirkus 1991


Bread & Circus hailed from Trondheim formed in 1989 and was a continuation of Romance, which consisted of Hans Hopen (vocals), Espen Isachsen (guitar), Frank Aune (bass), Christian Nystrom (keyboards) and Lars Almaas (drums). Romance already had a record deal with Grappa and with Rolf Graf as producer they released the single “Angel / Tonight’s The Night”. In the aftermath of this release stopped Hans Hopen and Espen Isachsen and was replaced by Baard G. Olsen
