Toys Of Joy – One Of These Days 1990

Hailing from Denmark, TOYS OF JOY, basically a duo formed by songwriters Henrik Launbjerg and Hans Egestorp, recorded the single “When The Rain Falls” at the very end of 1989. The band got signed by a local label and subsequently released a full album: ‘One Of These Days’. The CD becomes soon out of print and a hard hunt among AOR collectors.

Music was everything for Thomas Riekerk and his brother Robert Riekerk when they grew up in the Netherlands and AOR was Thomas’ first love. Band posters of Bad English, Giant, Toto and Foreigner were all over the walls of their rooms and in every corner there were guitars and amps. Back then music was not available digitally so the record store became their second home, when they were in search of that one album that was only available through import.

The Deserters – Riding the Belly 2012

Glimmer – Silver Zone 1999

My favorite song is “Make It Real.” I just love that song. That is why i bought this cd. I know that is kinda stupid, to buy a cd just because of one song, but it is done all the time. And buying a cd because of that one song that you heard on the radio,
