Do you miss the time when rock n’ roll was about attitude and musicians didn’t care about trends? Sleaze Glam Bubblegum Punk is out of fashion for sure, but still there’s some devotees playing this tupe music, and fans devouring it.
Enter TRASH STARS, a bunch of savage outsiders rocking in authentic sleaze-glam-punk style that seemed to have been sent from a time machine from the very end of the Eighties.
Formed about 3 years ago, TRASH STARS have released an album already, and some singles. Now the band is presenting “It Ain’t Pretty Being Easy“, their new studio record. And almost at the same time the EP ‘From Others to Ours (Alive I)‘, the first from a series of live recordings to come. Despite the AI generated cover art, TRASH STARS is a real 4-piece of experienced musicians.
From Faster Pussycat, Pretty Boy Floyd, Dogs d’Amour and Poison to Hanoi Rocks, New York dolls and Sex pistols, these guys rock hard here. Dirty lyrics, raspy vocals, hot sleazy rhythms and noisy guitars are the order of the day on songs like ‘What You Give [Is What You Get], ‘Sleaze Metal Party’, ‘Tales from the Past’ and ‘Brickfield Nights’ featuring Andy Hekkandi (Trench Dogs) in a vocal duet. They do some covers too like ‘Fallen Angel’ (Poison)… just dirtier.
Other influences include Shotgun Messiah, Ratt, Motley Crue… but when they used to be dangerous.
Indeed Sunset Strip sleaze glam in its ‘street level’ variation is almost dissapeared right know, but there’s still many fans out there. Indie bands like TRASH STARS keep the flame alive, and the craziest thing of all is that these guys are from Argentina, South America. But they sound like a lost 1988 Hollywood buch of bastards.
Fan of any of the bands mentioned above and that 1987-89 dirty rock n’ roll style? Grab this right now!
